The Preservation – Ice
Role: Tank

Skill Level Priority: Ultimate > Skill > Basic > Talent
Introduction
Gepard is a 5* Ice Preservation character that is only available from the Gacha/Warp. Gepard is able to fit in several teams as a defensive option to provide shields to allies to the entire team and as a freeze support. He is also able to take the place of a healer in most content when built properly
Skills
Basic: While Gepard may use his Basic Attack often to help with Skill Point generation, his skillset is not catered towards being a Main/Sub damage dealer. Therefore this Skill can be left at level 1 if you want to save on Skill materials.
Skill: Gepard deals Ice DMG equal to a percentage of his ATK to a single enemy with a 65% base chance to Freeze the enemy for 1 turn. We highly recommend investing some Skill levels for this Skill, as Gepard will most likely be using it often to regenerate energy. You can also invest some sub stats into Effect hit rate to increase the chances of the Freeze triggering.
Ultimate: The highlight of Gepard’s kit, his Ultimate provides a shield to the entire team that scales with his DEF. The shield provided by this Skill is strong enough to replace the Healer slot in most teams except for a few cases, such as endgame content (Memory of Chaos). We also highly recommend having an Energy Regen link rope to bring his rotation down to 2-3 turns per Ultimate.
Talent: If Gepard is struck with a killing blow instead of becoming knocked down, Gepard will immediately restore a percentage of his Max HP (Once per battle). This Skill can be left at level 1, while it does provide a decent safety net if you are for some reason, unable to put up a shield or heal Gepard in time. It provides nothing if Gepard is not defeated in battle. Additionally, this Talent has a trace tied to it that restores 100% of Gepard’s energy when triggered. Unfortunately, this trace tries to fix a Talent that requires Gepard to be KO’d to trigger its effect and additionally, if Gepard has an Energy Regen link rope he is able to use his Ultimate every 2-3 turns.
Team Comps
Note: Gepard has anti-synergy with some characters such as Clara who prefer to have the aggro drawn on to themselves instead.

Damage Buffer/DPS
Gepard = Shielder
As Gepard is a universally strong Tank/Taunter he can fit into any type of team. Fill the roles on the team comp above as you see fit. Additionally during the endgame in Gepard is able to replace a healer slot in the party allowing you to go for a more offensive lineup.

Healer
Gepard = Shielder
In harder content such as Memory of Chaos, Gepard’s shield may not provide enough defensive utility to keep the team alive. If this is the case we recommend bringing along a Healer instead of another DPS/Support to help keep the team alive.
Relics and Substats
Relic Sets 1. Knight of Purity Palace 2. Guard of Wuthering Snow Planetary Sets 1. Belobog of the Architects 2. Fleet of the Ageless | Main Stat Body: DEF% Boots: SPD Planet Sphere: DEF% Link Rope: Energy Regen% Sub Stat Priority: DEF% > Speed > Effect Hit Rate = HP% |
Knight of Purity Palace 4pc: Gepard’s best relic set as not only does it increase DEF, it also increases the max DMG that can be absorbed by Gepard’s Shield.
Fleet of the Ageless 2pc: Your goto set for most Supports, tanks or healers as it is extremely stamina efficient to farm.
Belobog of Architects 2pc: You can consider going for this planetary set if you want to make Gepard tankier
Eidolons
E1: Gepard’s E1 is a relatively straightforward effect that increases the base chance to Freeze enemies by 35%. This is currently one of Gepard’s better Eidolons, as it helps with Freeze consistency.
E2: When an enemy that was Frozen by Gepard’s Skill is unfrozen, their SPD is reduced by 20% for 1 turn. Another decent Eidolon in Gepard’s arsenal that helps with turn control if the enemy can be and is Frozen by his Skill.
E4: A strong but niche eidolon that increases the entire team’s Effect RES by 20% when Gepard is in battle. This Eidolon is situationally good against enemies/bosses that apply debuffs such as Cocolia.
E6: Finally for Gepard’s E6 it advances his action forward by 100% and restores an extra 50% of his Max HP. Unfortunately, this is his weakest Eidolon, as it tries to fix a Talent which is relatively pointless if Gepard is played properly.
Recommended Lightcones
Gacha
F2P
Moment of Victory: A premium 5* light cone, which is currently BIS for Gepard. Its first effect increases the DEF and Effect Hit Rate of the wearer. Not only does this light cone provide a massive boost to Gepard’s shield, the increase to his Effect Hit Rate helps with his Freeze consistency on his Skill. Its secondary effect increases the wearer’s chance to be attacked and DEF by an additional % if the wearer is attacked (This effect lasts until the end of the wearer’s turn).
Landau’s Choice: A 4* Gacha-only light cone that increases the likelihood of the wearer to be attacked while decreasing the DMG taken by 16% (Superimpose 1). Gepard benefits from this light cone as he does not have a surefire way to make enemies target him.
Day One of My New Life: A 4* Gacha-only light cone that helps with the wearer and team’s survivability. It increases the wearer’s DEF by 16% (Superimpose 1) and increases the DMG RES of all allies by 8% after entering battle. An overall strong light cone that helps increase the HP of Gepard’s shield while also providing team utility with its DMG RES increase for the entire party. A minor thing to note about this light cone is that the DEF increase provided by its effect scales to a maximum of 24% which is worse than other alternatives such as This is Me! and Trend of the Universal Market, which reaches 32% at Superimpose 5.
We Are Wildfire: A F2P 4* Preservation light cone that is available from the cumulative rewards from Shield shop and Light Cone Manifest, making it quite accessible to Superimpose 5. An overall strong light cone that decreases the damage taken by all allies for 5 turns, and at the same time, immediately restores HP to all allies equal to 30% of their HP difference between the characters’ Max and current HP. With this light cone being free, all players should have at least 1 copy of this light cone. However, do note that since this light cone does not have an effect that increases the wearer’s DEF, if you wish to focus on increasing the HP of Gepard’s shield then there may be better alternatives.
Amber: A budget light cone that is only available in Gacha, due to its 3* rating it is relatively accessible to all players at Superimpose 5. A straightforward light cone which increases the DEF of the wearer by 32% (Superimpose 5), and increases by an additional 32% if the wearer’s current hp is below 50%. Keep in mind that due to its 3* rarity, it will have lower base stats when compared to other 4* options.
