Free Characters Info
Element: Physical
Path: Destruction
How to Obtain:
At the start of the game, you will automatically get the Destruction Path (Physical) Trailblazer.
Comment:
For a free 5-Star character, Trailblazer can deal quite high damage with basic Relic and Light Cone. They can deal single target attacks and also blast attacks (single enemy and enemies adjacent to it), which is really beneficial for single enemies/waves of enemies. With higher Eidolons, they can even heal themselves (not as great as having a healer, but it helps in their survivability),
Element: Fire
Path: Preservation
How to Obtain:
Defeat Cocolia in the Trailblaze Mission of Jarilo-VI to unlock the Preservation Path (Fire) Trailblazer.
Comment:
Since Preservation is meant to protect allies with a shield rather than dealing damage, this Trailblazer has a low damage output. However, their Skill and Ultimate are really good for early team comp. Their Skill will taunt enemies to attack them rather than allies (which in turn will increase their Basic ATK). While their Ultimate is an AoE attack, which can easily inflict a Break effect for enemies with Fire weakness.
Element: Ice
Path: Preservation
How to Obtain:
At the start of the game, you will automatically get March 7th when playing the Trailblaze Mission.
Comment: While March 7th’s shield is really strong, it would take a while for her to create a shield for the whole team because her Skill only allows her to create a shield for one person. Her Ultimate has really low damage (which is to be expected), but since it’s an AoE attack, it helps in inflicting a Break effect to waves of enemies that are weak to Ice.
Element: Wind
Path: Hunt
How to Obtain:
At the start of the game, you will automatically get Dan Heng when playing the Trailblaze Mission.
Comment: A great single-target damage. One of the free characters that can be used even in the end-game with proper investment. Can reduce enemy’s speed upon Crit Hit when using Skill, and can reduce their Wind RES. Definitely a character you want to upgrade right from the start.
Element: Physical
Path: Abundance
How to Obtain:
Complete a certain Trailblaze Mission in Jarilo-VI (Underworld) to obtain Natasha for free.
Comment:
Natasha is the only free healer in the game and someone you want to be by your side of all time. After all, you can’t dodge enemies’ attacks in any battle so having a healer is crucial for a long battle. Her Skill heals one character, while her Ultimate heals the whole party. A very basic set of skills but extremely beneficial for the team.
Element: Fire
Path: Harmony
How to Obtain:
Guaranteed drop when completing tutorial for Warp for the first time.
Comment:
She is a complete support character with barely any damage output. Since her Ultimate is the main focus of her whole kit, you need to level her up and equip a decent gear so she can have higher Energy (she’s extremely Energy-hungry). Once you unlock her full potential, she can provide a decent ATK and SPD buff for the whole team.
Element: Ice
Path: Erudition
How to Obtain:
Complete Simulated Universe World 2, 4, and 6) to get her and her Eidolons.
Comment:
Since she’s an Erudition, you can expect her specialty to be against a group of enemies instead of a solo boss. While her kits are great, her damage multipliers are quite low. Instead of the main Ice DPS, it’s better to utilize her as a Follow-up Sub DPS in a battle with a single boss that summons small enemies (especially with her great follow-up attack talent).
Element: Quantum
Path: Erudition
How to Obtain:
Complete Forgotten Hall – Memory 3 to get Qingque. You can only get her once by this event.
Comment:
Her skill is quite complicated to master for beginners because she depends on the 4 tiles on her hand to deal big damage. You need to get 4 tiles of the same suit (can be obtained by using Skill/Ultimate), she will enter a special state that will increase her damage. If you didn’t get the same tiles, her damage is mediocre.
Element: Lightning
Path: Erudition
How to Obtain:
Pre-Registration reward. She will be sent via in-game mail.
Comment:
A great AoE damage dealer for a 4-Star. Since there are a lot of robot enemies in Jarilo-VI, investing in her is great because lots of them are weak against Lightning. And with Serval’s Skill and Ultimate, she can inflict Break so much easier than other Lightning DPS.
Recommended Team Comp
You need to add characters with different classes to create a functional team and a balanced team of Support and DPS. Usually, a team consists of 2 DPS and 2 Support, or 1 DPS and 3 Support.
First Arrival Team
March 7th + Physical MC + Dan Heng + Asta/Herta/Serval

When you first start the game, after completing some Trailblaze Mission, the first few characters you will get are Asta, Herta, and Serval (need to access mail first).
The chaotic Astral trio is a good team right off the bat against the early enemies. March 7th has a solid shield and can protect against the enemies’ weak attacks (for now) while the remaining DPS and Support do their own job. You can add any character you like for the last slot (Asta/Herta/Serval), although it is best if you add the one you plan to build in the early-mid game team to conserve your materials and Fuel.
Early Game Team
Fire MC + Natasha + Dan Heng + Serval/Herta

When you reach Jarilo-VI, you will get Natasha and Fire MC. You will find many more enemies with various Weaknesses. With Fire MC that can provide a shield for the team and a tad bit more damage than March 7th, you can use them as the tanker of the team.
Natasha will be the healer of the team as well as Physical Weakness for any enemies that have a such weakness. Dan Heng is still on the team because he’s that great of a single-target DPS. While Serval or Herta are great as AoE DPS which is highly effective in the early games against a group of enemies that mostly have Lightning/Ice Weaknesses.
Mid Game Team
This one is more for the Cavern/Calyx/and Echo of War which allows you to borrow a friend’s character to the team.
Serval + Herta + Natasha + Dan Heng/Support

In most battles here, you face lots of enemies in one wave, so having an AoE DPS is great. In addition, you might gain lots of new characters from the Warp with all your Stellar Jades at this point of the game. So if you get a great DPS from the Warp, don’t hesitate to add them to the team (after you built them at least a little bit, of course).
If your characters are strongly built, you may not even need a healer and they can be replaced with another DPS to eliminate enemies in a just few turns.
Of course, before entering any battle, make sure to look at the Recommended Type of elements you need to bring (every Cavern/Calyx/Echo of War has different Weaknesses) to make sure you can inflict Break easily.
